TEXTUAL TENSION - 2015
ABOUT THIS WORK /// Painting is my boyfriend / my boyfriend is a painting- that's one way of saying it. This playful, confounding stop-motion video vacillates between expressions that attempt to describe feelings about love and/or abstract painting. Over and over words are written, read, reversed, erased, succeed and fail at communicating. Ultimately what is conveyed here is the difficulty in effectively using language to accurately describe feelings about these two subjects. This video was designed to be played on a large (40"+) monitor hung crooked, 30" from the floor, looped with no audio, OR playfully projected on architectural elements.
